The Maya Ragazzo apparel line was sold online on Anthropologie.com betwen 2024-2025. Maya, the recipient of the 2024 Anthropologie x YoungArts Leading with Creativity Award, created a 5-piece collection featuring a T-shirt, tote, crewneck, lounge pants, and shorts.
This grant initiative empowers artists to launch their own art-based businesses, ensuring that all profits remain entirely with the artists themselves. The apparel is made from 100% reclaimed cotton and cut and sewn by Everybody.World, a sustainable clothing initiative based in Los Angeles. Each piece is screenprinted either by Maya in her central LA garage studio or by LCM Apparel, a local cut &#38;amp; sew vendor in Vernon. Additionally, some details are hand-applied by Maya &#38;amp; her art assistants using traditional lino block printing techniques. The tote is produced separately within the USA.
**While the year long program ended and the line is no longer sold on the Anthropologie website, the collection is now available under the SHOP section of this website.

CARDBOARD PAINTINGS
 These paintings adopt the tradition of oil portraiture in hopes of elevating cardboard as an integral part of commercial society. Though it altruistically protects and carries objects more valuable than itself, it is ultimately discarded. These works honor its quiet sacrifice, preserving it as one might a figure of great importance.This series of oil on canvas paintings employs the trompe l'oeil technique, which translates to "fool the eye." Dating back to ancient Greece and Rome, this method creates an optical illusion of a real object on a flat surface. So no, that’s not a real fragile sticker you see, it’s an oil painting!

		<description>Maya briefly trained as a professional model making assistant at Custom Model Railroads,&#38;nbsp; a company in Baltimore specializing in manufacturing model train layouts and custom build kits, most often in HO scale (1:87).&#38;nbsp; Since then, Maya has worked on architectural models and makes her own custom surrealist miniature&#38;nbsp; landscapes. She mixes different scales and environments in a peculiar way to disorient the familiar, often using a method called “kit bashing”, which is a technique where parts from various model kits are combined to create a new, unique model.
Below is the documentation of the miniature world built for an outdoor installation in collaboration with Some Clouds, a seasonal curatorial gathering focused on the temporality of exhibition and display, programmed by Chloe Ginnegar. This specific work was shown along the LA river and was later used as a set for stop-motion animation music videos for the musician Runnner.&#38;nbsp;

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Morris Louis is one of America’s greatest twentieth century abstract artists. He was supported by his wife, Marcella, who was a working teacher and paid for their apartment in Baltimore where Morris lived and made his paintings. Morris’ paintings were as big as the apartment would fit. 
After the death of Morris Louis, all of his paintings were handled and distributed by Marcella. We have Marcella to thank for taking care of Morris’ work and estate. Maya found a VHS titled “Morris Louis” in the e-waste bin while attending MICA and learned about their lives through the documentary and recreated a large scale version of the VHS and retitled the documentary “Marcella &#38;amp; Morris”, adding the text “supported by a 
woman” to give some ackownledgement of Marcella’s participation in his art career and preservation of his legacy. Looking back on this project, Maya of course would reframe the text to read “supported by Marcella”... or something to that effect.  &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;
